Yes, Spanish Greyhounds, or Galgo Español, are often overbred in Spain. They are commonly used for hunting and racing, and as a result, many are bred without proper consideration for their health and well-being. This has led to an overpopulation of Galgos in Spain, and many end up abandoned or mistreated. Efforts are being made by animal welfare organizations to address this issue and promote responsible breeding and adoption of Galgos. **

Yes, a Galgo can be a watchdog. While they are primarily known for their skills as hunting and racing dogs, they are also known to be loyal and protective of their families. The collar for a Galgo should be approximately 12-14 inches in circumference. It is important to measure your Galgo's neck before purchasing a collar to ensure a proper fit. The collar should be snug enough that it doesn't slip off, but not too tight that it restricts their movement or causes discomfort. Adjustable collars are a good option to ensure a proper fit as your Galgo grows. **
